Significant increase in low profile systems

We’re seeing a significant increase in low profile installs, mainly using the Mercury Stella underfloor heating system.

There’s no need for screed with this system and by specifying STELLA in your next project, you could save weeks of drying time. Flexibility is also crucial, you can decide to install at the end of the build leaving all other works to be completed first.

Lightweight, grooved insulation panels and low profile structure make it easier to install and can be used on both lower and upper floors with virtually any floor covering. MERCURY STELLA is a fantastic system as it can be used in both new build and retrofit renovations, making it a firm favourite with installers.

GP practice expansion

The doctor will see you now, or in our case all this week! We’re in the picturesque town of Tenterden in Kent installing our underfloor heating design into an existing GP practice which is increasing in size by more than 50% to meet demand.

MERCURY Atlas and Apollo are being installed over 3 floors in combination with a number controls. The doctors, staff and patients will benefit from a cutting-edge facility, delivering the most up-to-date health and wellbeing services for its large community.

Back to School

With just over a week until the children go back to school, we’re in the borough of Bromley completing the install of a MERCURY Atlas system we designed for a primary school that has been refurbished and extended offering new, modern facilities including new classrooms, offices, storage areas and toilets.

MERCURY Atlas is ideal for use in screeded floors thanks to its excellent temperature outputs and quick & easy installation, typically clipped to insulation. We’re also installing over 20 tamper-proof thermostats, a perfect solution for where set temperatures are required

Ultra-quiet heat pumps

As we move towards more eco-friendly heating options, we’ve seen an increase in the number of specifications for the perfect partnership between heat pumps and underfloor heating.

We’ve recently completed a lovely high-spec property near Poole with underfloor heating installed throughout, working in partnership with the ultra-quiet Ecodan 11.2kw air source heat pump; one of the only heat pumps on the market with the compressor being double-housed in an acoustic casing, loose fitted to stop any vibration on silicone feet. A must-have for clients who have concerns about noise.

From houses to apartment blocks

We’ve come down from the heady-heights of 36 floors of Citypoint last week to Fleet in Hampshire to install a system that we have designed to combine two floor constructions within this new block of apartments.

MERCURY Atlas is our go-to system for simple and efficient heating within a screed floor and we’ve added MERCURY Aurora, a commonly used system as part of a specified acoustic floor detail within apartments.

We’re highly experienced in multi-residential installations. To see an example of our work, head over to our case studies.

H&V News Awards 2020 Finalists

We’re delighted to announce that we’re finalists for the second year running in the H&V News category of Small Project of the Year (under £0.5M) for the design, supply and installation of underfloor heating into Bath Abbey.

The Bath Abbey restoration is part of the Heritage Lottery funded ‘Footprint Project’ and we have designed a bespoke clip-to-mesh system to ensure that no damage was caused to items of archaeological interest within the floor. The new eco-friendly heating system uses a combination of Bath’s famous thermal springs, underfloor heating and ground source heat pumps. We’re proud to be part of one of the world’s first hot spring heating systems.
