UFHN awarded Highly Recommended at H&V News Awards 2020

UFHN are delighted to have been awarded a Highly Commended recognition for their Bath Abbey project at the H&V News Awards in the category of Small Project Of The Year Under £0.5M.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the awards were held virtually this year, with the presentation to the judges being held just before the national lockdown in March.

The restoration of Bath Abbey is part of the Heritage Lottery Funded ‘Footprint project’, which highlighted a need for an update of the antiquated and inefficient heating system, to a new eco-friendly heating system. Using the unique combination of Bath’s famous thermal springs, underfloor heating and ground source heat pumps, this project is one of the world’s first hot spring heating systems.

Paul Lines, UFHN Managing Director said, “As a proven industry specialist in designing underfloor heating systems into listed and historical buildings, the renovation of Bath Abbey has been one of the most interesting, complex and contractual projects we have ever seen.

We are extremely proud to be recognised as the company that could design, supply and install a solution that was sympathetic to the many stakeholders’ requirements, whilst also delivering an exceptionally cost-efficient and environmentally-friendly system that’s guaranteed for 100 years”.
