The Wessex Hotel

Oh, we do like to be beside the seaside…especially in our hometown of Bournemouth.

This week, we’re on-site installing a MERCURY system we designed at a landmark development of 1, 2- & 3-bedroom apartments and a 105-room hotel at the former Wessex Hotel, minutes from Bournemouth beach.
The site has a history to it and was the regular venue of the Wessex Dance Club for 27 years, and the home of Bournemouth’s second-biggest ballroom before it’s closure in 2016. It’s such a great location.

We’re using one of our more popular systems, MERCURY ATLAS which provides a quick, flexible and simple solution for heating within a screed floor and no less than 482 thermostats!

From houses to apartment blocks

We’ve come down from the heady-heights of 36 floors of Citypoint last week to Fleet in Hampshire to install a system that we have designed to combine two floor constructions within this new block of apartments.

MERCURY Atlas is our go-to system for simple and efficient heating within a screed floor and we’ve added MERCURY Aurora, a commonly used system as part of a specified acoustic floor detail within apartments.

We’re highly experienced in multi-residential installations. To see an example of our work, head over to our case studies.

Ealing Filmworks underfloor heating

We’re excited to be part of the transformation of the old Empire Cinema in Ealing. Our contribution includes installing a cutting-edge combination of warm water and electric underfloor heating in the stunning new apartments.

Once complete, Filmworks will be a 200-home art-deco-inspired development boasting an 8-screen cinema and bustling central piazza. Residents will enjoy a fantastic array of shops, restaurants and bars right on their doorstep.

Living at Filmworks means being part of a thriving community in a truly iconic location.

H&V News Awards 2020 Finalists

We’re delighted to announce that we’re finalists for the second year running in the H&V News category of Small Project of the Year (under £0.5M) for the design, supply and installation of underfloor heating into Bath Abbey.

The Bath Abbey restoration is part of the Heritage Lottery funded ‘Footprint Project’ and we have designed a bespoke clip-to-mesh system to ensure that no damage was caused to items of archaeological interest within the floor. The new eco-friendly heating system uses a combination of Bath’s famous thermal springs, underfloor heating and ground source heat pumps. We’re proud to be part of one of the world’s first hot spring heating systems.

The most impressive country hotel in England

Forbes voted Heckfield Place ‘quite possibly the most impressive country hotel in England’ earlier this year, and we were lucky enough to secure the design, supply and install into their fabulous new spa Little Bothy which is where we are today!

This project is as unique as its setting, where else would you find underfloor heating in concrete benches in the steam room!

Underfloor heating for care facilities.

This week our team completed the design and installation of a new heating system for a nursing home extension in an exclusive area of Hove, East Sussex. To meet the specific needs of the facility, we opted for the industry leading Mercury Ellipse underfloor heating system.

Ideal for Joisted floors and quick response times.

The Mercury Ellipse system was chosen for its suitability with joisted floors, a common feature in many care facilities. This innovative system provides a quick response time, ensuring residents experience comfortable temperatures rapidly without raising the floor levels – a significant advantage during construction or renovation projects.

Improved Safety and consistent comfort for residents.

The underfloor heating system offers several key benefits for residents at the nursing home extension. Unlike traditional radiators, underfloor heating creates a more even ambient temperature throughout the space. This not only enhances comfort but also reduces the risk of burns associated with hot radiators, a major safety concern for elderly residents.

Upgrade your care facility with confidence.

If you’re looking to improve safety, comfort and energy efficiency within your care facility, underfloor heating could be the ideal solution. Whether you’re managing a new build or a considering an upgrade, our team can help you choose the right system for your needs. Contact the team today to discuss your project.

Don’t let your mate become a memory!

This is the message that we’re supporting whilst Richard Middleditch, along with a team of friends complete the challenge of cycling over 1,400km from Lands’ End to John O’Groats in memory of their friend Kev who sadly died of prostate cancer last year.

All funds raised will go to Prostate Cancer UK.
